TOLEDO 5, BUFFALO 4: The Bisons' Andy Green helped to pull the Herd to within one run of the Toledo Mud Hens when he hit his second homer of the season in the ninth inning. Mike Hessman homered for the third time in three games against his former team. His two-run shot to center field now puts his homer total at 17 for the season, three more than Dan Johnson of Durham. Hessman added two RBIs to bring his season total to 53, which is 10 more than second-ranked Pedro Alvarez of Indianapolis. Entering the sixth inning with the game tied at three, Jeff Frazier hit a solo home run off Tobi Stoner. Stoner (3-5) went 5 2/3 innings and allowed six hits and four earned runs. Jesus Feliciano went 2-for-4 and increased his league-high batting average to a .383. His average is 60 points higher than any other player in the International League. Boxscore

AKRON 11, BINGHAMTON 10: Binghamton led 10-4 after seven innings, but watched that lead evaporate in a matter of two innings. Carlos Guzman ripped a season-high four hits in five trips to the plate and drove in two runs to pace the B-Mets season-high 17-hit attack. Edgar Ramirez entered in the eighth inning with a six-run cushion and proceeded to load the bases with three straight singles. After striking out Beau Mills and getting a shallow flyout from Carlos Rivero, Ramirez surrendered a bases-clearing double to Cord Phelps that brought the Aeros within 10-7. Binghamton’s meltdown continued in the ninth. Manuel Alvarez, who came on to notch the final out of the eighth for Ramirez, remained in the game in search of his first Double-A save. However, Damaso Espino led off with a single and was joined on base when John Drennen doubled Ken Daneyko Jersey. Alvarez plated Espino with a wild pitch and was knocked out of the game after permitting an RBI single to Lonnie Chisenhall that shaved the lead to one run. Emary Frederick entered and gave up a double to Jared Goedert and hit Matt McBride with a pitch to load the bases. Mills followed and hit a comebacker to the mound, which Frederick turned into a 1-2-3 double-play. One out away from an improbable save, Frederick got within a strike, but Rivero blooped a single into right that scored two to give Akron (20-29) its only lead. The B-Mets mounted a charge against Bryce Stowell in the bottom half. With two out, D.J. Wabick and Eric Campbell singled. Reese Havens joined them on base with a walk. But Omir Santos grounded out to shortstop with the tying and winning runs in scoring position https://www.devilsteamfanshop.com/. Santos is now 0-for-15 since joining the B-Mets earlier in May. The loss spoiled a decent start from Mike Antonini https://www.devilsteamfanshop.com/Patrik_Elias_Jersey-20. The lefty tossed 5 1/3 innings of three-run work and was in line for the win until the feverish Aeros comeback. The B-Mets have lost the last five games that the southpaw has started. Wabick and Havens both ripped three hits each and Eric Campbell had two hits for the fifth straight game. Boxscore

CLEARWATER 7, ST. LUCIE 2: The first seven batters Kyle Allen faced reached base as the Threshers got all the run support they needed by plating five first-inning runs. Allen (4-3) settled down for his last four innings, allowing only one hit to the final 18 batters he faced. The Mets’ offense could not get anything going. St. Lucie had seven hits on the night, two by Jordany Valdespin, who hit a solo homer in his first appearance since coming off the disabled list for a broken finger. Joey August continued to swing a hot bat with two hits as well. The only other Mets run came via another solo homer, this one from Brahiam Maldonado. Rhiner Cruz and Jose Bierd combined to toss three scoreless relief innings. Allen was charged with five runs, three earned, while striking out five in five innings. Boxscore

SAVANNAH 1, ROME 1 (SUSPENDED): The game was suspended in the top of the sixth inning with the score tied at 1 and will resume Sunday at 2 p.m. before the regularly scheduled game. Rome scored in the second inning on a double play that plated Jake Hanson. Savannah tied the score in the third on Luis Rivera’s sacrifice fly, which drove in Cesar Puello. The game was suspended in the top of the sixth with Savannah’s Alonzo Harris leading off the inning. Boxscore

Compiled from team reports
